Why Vietnam should be your next getaway
Are you planning an upcoming trip or a weekend break? Vietnam isn't usually a destination which springs immediately to mind, but it has so much to offer, from its incredible food and plentiful beaches to lots of shopping destinations perfect for finding you a unique gift for someone you love or simply to remember your trip.
When we think of Vietnam, we immediately consider the stunning resorts of Ha Long Bay and Hoi An! It is a country, however, where it really pays to follow the maxim less is more. If you’re considering visiting Vietnam, you’ll need to be prepared to take things slow, as high-speed travel isn’t an option. If you’re visiting for a short break, find an area you want to visit, try the local cuisine and explore it to it’s fullest. However, if you're fortunate enough to spend longer in this beautiful country, we would recommend picking a few towns or cities and discovering them all, each one is so unique and will leave you breathless.
We might add that Vietnam is exceptionally affordable and is popular among budget travellers. Prices are climbing though which gives you all the more reason to visit soon. Food costs are lower, and the street food is among the best in the world. Even in the most significant cities like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, you can get by on $15 a day.
And who doesn't love good food? Vietnam is full of excellent options, including fresh vegetables a plenty and scrumptious seafood. The coffee is second to none too, and, while there isn't a Starbucks in sight, there is French drip coffee around every corner, particularly in popular destinations like Hanoi. We guarantee that you'll be welcomed with open arms by the locals too as one of Vietnam's precious treasures is its people. Vietnam has several of the world's top beaches. And most of them are safe to swim.
There are plenty of opportunities for water-sport activities as well. In Nha Trang, you can kitesurf and windsurf. In Da Nang, enjoy one of the world-class beach resorts for couples and families alike. In Mui Ne, enjoy the quiet with some added wildness while planning for your seafood dinner.
Vietnam is not short of World Heritage Sites with Halong Bay, Phong Nha Ke Bang caves, Hoi An Ancient Street and Cham Islands are all recognized for their intense beauty. If you haven't considered Vietnam already, please do. You'll thank us for it! It's full of natural beauty, and we promise you'll be talking about it for a long time afterwards.
