Easy-Breezy Smoothies That Will Change Your Mornings!

On a Sunday morning, breakfast can be an indulgent three-course meal. But on most days, I just grab whatever fruit or bread I can reach and start my day. If you're like me and most people, this unhealthy habit makes us hungry before we make it to lunchtime.

If you workout in the morning, eating something greasy after will just make you feel worse than better. But even if we're working at home, who has time to make world-class eggs benedict on toast or salmon with avocado? Not me!

Throughout the day when you feel that it's a little humid and you need a refreshing drink, you need not grab for something with too much sugar. Fruit smoothies do the trick! The ingredients below are perfect for a quick pick me up, dessert, midday drink. Add some milk or soy milk and that'll be the perfect breakfast drink.

Stock the ingredients in your fridge and whenever you feel like it, add them all up in a blender until it's smooth.

Piña Colada

We're missing out on that tropical vacation, but it's okay! Imagine the warm breeze of Hawaii with this creamy pineapple mocktail. Added bonus: Pineapple has an active anti-inflammatory compound called "bromelain" that can be therapeutic against sinusitis.

Ingredients

·     1 cup milk of your choice (make it more tropical with coconut milk)

·     1 cup frozen pineapple

·     1 banana

·     1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Orange is The New Breakfast

If it's available in your area, get fresh oranges to make this vitamin c-packed drink. Vitamin C has been linked to cancer prevention. This zesty drink will surely start your day in the right direction.

Ingredients

·     1 cup almond milk (or milk of your choice)

·     1 cup of frozen mango

·     1 orange

·     1 banana

·     1 date

Hazelnut, Oat and Berries

Oatmeal can be boring most times. But it's accessible and easy to make. This smoothie is even easier! It's filling for breakfast and delicious too. If you want a little bit of indulgence, add a tablespoon of cacao powder, or Nutella perhaps?

Ingredients

·     1 cup almond milk (or milk of your choice)

·     1 cup blueberries

·     1 banana

·     1/4 cup rolled oats

·     1 tablespoon hazelnuts

Strawberries in the Island

No list of smoothies on the internet is complete without a strawberry and banana pairing. It's the most obvious smoothie ingredient. But this recipe takes it up a notch with the addition of the sweet candy-like goji berries. While you're at it, transport yourself to a beautiful island with crispy coconut flakes.

Ingredients

·     1 cup almond milk (or milk of your choice)

·     1 cup strawberries

·     1/2 banana

·     3 tablespoons coconut flakes

·     2 tablespoons goji berries

PB&J in a Glass

This is my favourite recipe so far. That's because I just love peanut butter, and this recipe calls for a generous amount. Peanut butter is healthy, consisting of good fats and lots of protein. The raspberries complete the mix representing "jelly." It's healthy, sweet and nostalgic.

Ingredients

·     1 cup almond milk (or milk of your choice)

·     1 banana

·     1/2 cup raspberries

·     2 tablespoons peanut butter

·     2 dates

Don't you just love easy-breezy smoothie recipes? Have a great day!
