Upon arrival in Champillon (just outside of Epernay), check into your preferred room at the Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa. The remainder of the day will be free for you to settle in and do as you please. You may wish to relax at the hotel and make use of the amazing facilities. The hotel boasts a fantastic spa including indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna and a hammam. The lovely Champagne bar has a great terrace offering stunning views over the surroundings. Alternatively, you may prefer to explore your charming surroundings independently.
In the evening a four course gourmet dinner with a Champagne aperitif, wine, water and coffee will be served in the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant.
On day two, you will be met at the hotel by a luxury chauffeured MPV (a Mercedes E or S Class), which will accompany you throughout the day on a private basis. The day will start in style as you will be welcomed as the VIP guests of Moët and Chandon in Epernay. Here, you will be taken on a private Dom Pérignon tour, visiting some of the oldest areas of the cellars which are seldom visited by the public. A tasting of Dom Pérignon will conclude the visit in an elegant reception room at the Moët mansion.
After the tour, you will be taken on a private river cruise on the lovely Marne River in a beautiful vintage wooden cruiser. This is a great way to experience the vineyards from a different perspective and see local sights such as The De Castellane tower and the locks and dams in Cumières. A picnic lunch will be served on board with a bottle of Champagne.
The afternoon will consist of a visit to a small, family-run Champagne House for a tour of the fascinating Champagne-making process from press to bottle and the opportunity to learn the Napoleonic art of Sabrage (opening a bottle with a sabre). You will be taken back to your hotel at the end of the day.
The evening will be free for you to do as you please. We will provide you with a list of recommended restaurants in the area as part of your travel pack and we would be pleased to reserve you a table at any of these for dinner.
The four day break includes a private chauffeured luxury vehicle for a second full day and tours and tastings at your three preferred Champagne Houses. There are several options subject to your preference and availabilities, including Mercier, GH Mumm, Pommery, Ruinart, Taittinger and Veuve Clicquot. Please note that a number of the more exclusive estates do not tend to receive visitors at weekends and some of them do not receive visitors at all. We would be pleased to discuss the various options with you and contact the individual estates accordingly.
After a leisurely breakfast, check out of the hotel and at your own pace start your journey home.

• These prices are per person and based on two people travelling together and sharing a twin or double room.
• These are realistic guide prices, based on travel in standard season (usually April to the end of October). Considerable discounts often apply for travel out of season (usually November to the end of March) or if there are more than two of you travelling together. Please let us know your preferred travel dates for a definitive price.
• Although we propose specific hotels as part of our standard packages, we enjoy excellent relationships and preferential rates at the majority of the hotels in each of our featured destinations. Therefore if you would prefer to stay in a different hotel, this can be arranged. Please contact us for the relevant supplements/discounts.
• Other room grades are available at most of the hotels that we work with. Just let us know which hotel you prefer and we will send you the relevant supplements for the various room grades.
