Lion Quays
Lion Quays
Placing a spa on the water’s edge is always a good start when it comes to relaxation, and is a sign that the team at lion quays really know what they're doing when it comes to all things leisure. In addition to the gym and 25 metre swimming pool, the jewel in the crown is the thermal suite which features a hydrotherapy pool, a whirlpool, a starlit three-level steam room, a sauna, sanarium, rasul mud chamber, experience showers and a variety of relaxation lounges.

In 12 treatment rooms using decléor, natural spa factory, jessica and bare minerals products, the treatments list encompasses a range of massages, wraps, maternity treatments, facials, waxing and make-up consultations as well as a journey through the thermal suite designed to improve circulation, ease respiratory conditions and muscular tension or detoxify the body.
Hotel & Accommodation
Formerly a pub, lion quays was restored to its hospitable glory by the current owners as a labour of love. Today, the contemporary architecture on the banks of llangollen canal, surrounded by verdant countryside, provides an inspired setting for time out. Rooms and suites at the four star hotel include family rooms and a bridal suite, and all enjoy understated modern design throughout, with a neutral colour palette and lots of natural light.
Meanwhile, the waterside restaurant has large windows to take in the canal views, and serves a fusion menu of seasonal british dishes and international cuisine alongside an extensive wine list and alfresco dining in the summer months.
